Legal Department & Company Secretariat
The primary role of the Legal Department is to provide legal advice to the Companies within the Harel Mallac Group. The drafting and vetting of contracts, assisting in acquisitions, counseling in litigation matters, developing strategies to guard against legal risks are its key functions.
The Company Secretariat which operates via the legal entity HM Secretaries Ltd ensures that the respective board and company comply with relevant legal, statutory and regulatory requirements. The Company Secretariat is involved in organising and administering Board meetings, maintaining statutory books and liaises with the regulatory institutions to ensure the smooth running of the company.
The Legal Department and Company Secretariat are also involved in ensuring that the principles of Corporate Governance are adhered to and followed by all companies concerned.
Marketing & Communication
The Group Marketing and Communication department is actively involved in the promotion of the group’s corporate branding and in helping business units and subsidiaries alike in their commercial activities. From strategy definition to message identification and medium selection, the department gets close to its “clients” and works as an internal communication agency. Read more
Finance
The Corporate Financial Department, under the responsibility of the Group Financial Controller, is responsible for all accounting and fi nance matters of the corporate head offi ce, the implementation of the Group Financial policies in line with the Financial Procedures Manual, the treasury management, and the consolidation of the Group’s accounts. It also ensures that compliance and good governance principles are followed throughout the Group, helps in the evaluation of new projects, and acts as a support to the Financial Controllers of the SBU’s.
Total Quality The objective of the quality function is the effective development and utilization of human potential, knowledge, and organisational systems to enhance the capability of Harel Mallac to continually change for the better and renew itself, while serving its stakeholders optimally.
The department is involved in the promotion of a total quality philosophy through the adoption, development and deployment of internationally recognised quality standards and business excellence models in all SBUs within the Group. It also acts as a catalyst for change focussing on transformational changes that would eventually lead Harel Mallac to outperform and attain a competitive edge.
In a nutshell, the ultimate aim is to build a strong foundation based on world class standards, apply best in class practices, benchmark against others and better serve customer’s needs and expectations.
