Our Policy Statement Background

Harel Mallac & Co Ltd is a group involved in multiple areas of activities encompassing such fields as retailing, chemical products, telephony and IT and outsourcing. The Harel Mallac Group, through its people and activities, has a considerable influence on the different environments in which it operates. These guidelines define our approach to ensure that we are acting as an environmentally-conscious corporate citizen.

ADHERENCE WITH POLICY
Conformity with this policy is vital in ascertaining that:
a. The risks posed by our activities to the environment are accurately recognized, prioritised and managed in a suitable and sensible manner.
b. The policy criteria is applicable in all legislations where there are interests of Harel Mallac, in a way that is respectful of local cultures, habits and state of affairs, and;
c. Harel Mallac and Co Ltd is looked upon as a foremost contributor to and participant in the area of environmental responsibility.

GROUP POLICY
• Ascertain that the Group’s operations are in line with all environmental legislations of the different countries in which it operates.
• Measure and manage environmental impacts when initiating strategies, products and key transformation projects.
• Ensure that our evaluation of customers’ purchases is inclusive of an assessment of latent ecological hazard
• Reassess and actualise Group-wide objectives and goals and ensure that they are in line with the group’s commitment to sustainable development, continuous environmental upgrading and at preventing pollution.
• Work closely with our suppliers to ensure that there is an improvement in our and their green practices.
• Back – through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives –environmental endeavours by our employees and other Governmental institutions and NGOs.
• Acknowledge the interest that our various stakeholders have in our environmental activities. This will be done by raising the awareness of our employees on environmental issues and by fostering in them ecologically sound behaviours and empowering them to act as ambassadors of our policy.
